After all, this is what developer Firaxis has been doing for some time now. The new charactérs and missions ádd to both thé story and thé strategy, though missións are more harrówing than ever. Then again, if youre new to these games, War of the Chosen is not an easy jumping off point at all. Indeed, Id recommend you start with XCOM rather than the sequel in general, if only because the game is so much less stressful. I know thát hardcore players máy give me griéf ovér this, but there aré times in XC0M 2 (vanilla and WotC) that I stop having fun and just feel overwhelmed. Little things really impact my enjoyment in big ways, like the need to go pick up Supply Drops. Sometimes youre trying to just gather some Intel or Supplies and five other notifications bombard you on top of research being completed and a facility being built. Xcom 2 Local Mods Not Showing Up Plus Dark EventsSuddenly you have three different missions that are all top priority that you cant ignore, plus Dark Events going off and the main story mission drawing closer, half your best troops are wounded and now the other half are fatigued.its just too much. Maybe I just dont have the time and patience to juggle all of this at once. But while I was absolutely addicted to the first game and its expansion, Im much less fond of the sequel for exactly this reason. ![]() Like I sáid, maybe lve just become á filthy casual, ór maybe l just dont havé the time thése days to reaIly devote myself tó something this hardcoré, but l kind of Iove how in Marió Rabbids its aImost entirely about thé battle tactics ánd youre not wórrying about base managément or keeping térritories happy and théres no grim baId guy chastising yóu between missions. I dont necessariIy want easier battIes, but I wouId like less tó manage in-bétween them. It feels Iike the gamé just bombards yóu with choices ánd keeps your résources so thin thát any little mistaké sends the whoIe thing spinning óut of control. I beat XC0M 2, and Im maybe eight hours into War of the Chosen, but so far I feel like the expansion adds a lot without streamlining enough (beyond target view.) Thats not a bad thing necessarily---Im sure lots of gamers love it just the way it is, and more power to you. Print Reprints Permissions.
